Indianapolis

Of all the cities in the US that are associated with sport, there is probably nowhere else that has the same level of history as Indianapolis. Thanks to its status as the home of what is very probably the greatest motor race in the world, Indianapolis attracts millions of visitors each year who come to see the famous INDY 500 and the many other attractions in the city that owe their existence to the race.

There are a number of reasons why anyone might wish to visit Indianapolis aside from the reputation that the city has for sport, and these include business, the live music scene, and of course the many attractions that are inside the city and close by. Thanks to being the home of one of the largest universities in the Mid West of the USA - The University of Indiana, the city also has a large student population, and a correspondingly lively nightlife scene that has something for everyone.

During the day, Indianapolis is a great place to explore, and has a number of excellent shopping malls that offer people the chance to find some great bargains as well as to simply enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and street entertainment that is available in them. Most of the larger malls are home to some of the biggest names in American Retail, and there few places aside from Indianapolis where you can seek out so many great deals in a wide variety of retail outlets from basic warehouse style clearance centers in the suburbs through to glamorous department stores in the heart of the city.

Many people find that once they have arrived in Indianapolis, they are spoiled for choice about things to do, and as such miss out on many of the lesser known attractions close to the city itself. This part of the country has a long and rich history that dates back to the time of the Native American people, and there are a number of carefully preserved reservations where you can experience what life was like in the country long before the Europeans arrived in the eighteenth century. Whatever your interests are in visiting Indianapolis, you will find that this city offers something for you to enjoy whole heartedly.
